the last day of national blog posting month! its been very rewarding i must say, to have had the incentive to post everyday. i have a feeling they will be less frequent now, but perhaps more interesting as a result.

I go back to school tomorrow, and while i'm looking forward to it, i still have so much to do. my paper is almost done, but after i turn it in, i have another one to do and also film to get processed and to start editing, as well as an animation project that is still in the idea stage. ACK!

NaBloPoMo Day 29

National Blog Posting Month is almost over!! I wonder how easy it will be now to post everyday.

i have so much to do before this semester is over. I'm trying my best to stay calm, but its proving difficult. once i finish this paper, things will be much better. the thing is though, i've been enjoying this semester so much i don't think i'm ready for it to end! and that is a rare feeling for me. hopefully next semester will be just as intellectually stimulating and enjoyable, but thats always a gamble. but if i'm going to go that far, i suppose all life is a gamble.

There is so much wrong with the tv show Friends, but it is SUCH a guilty pleasure to watch.

Hard to believe thanksgiving break is almost over already...its been so nice! At least my dad doesn't go back to california until tuesday, so i have a little more time with him, but my brother leaves tomorrow!! :-( Also it is completely and annoying strange that it hasn't snowed ONCE yet here! usually by thanksgiving we've already had at least a few days. if anyone needs more proof that global warming is in fact occurring just come visit.

I have GOT to get this paper done by tomorrow.

NaBloPoMo Day 27

Happy Thanksgiving! I love this holiday so much. there's something so special about knowing that all across the nation, families are celebrating the same exact thing, eating a lot of the same food, and enjoying time together. I think its wonderful that we still celebrate our coming to this country in this way, even though it is a complex holiday in that, yes historically the first thanksgiving did happen in much the way we all know, but afterwards things got extremely ugly for several decades. But all chatter aside its a fantastically unique holiday and i love celebrating it each and every year.

Enter the Holiday Season!

why on earth would someone be so obviously flirtatious to someone as vulnerable as i am when they're already taken? of course he didn't know that i'm single and very much looking, but still, it sucks to spend an evening thinking that something could maybe happen only to find out "...i'm spending Thanksgiving with my girlfriends family...".

So waiter at Zolos, you made our night so much fun, and we had a great time. I was disappointed to find out you had a girlfriend because i thought maybe you were interested and you were acting flirtatious, but maybe you're like that with all your tables. Anyway, thanks for a great night, we will be back and hoping for more of your entertaining waiting! :-D . (and if things with your other half don't work out.....look me up! you seem like a fun person.)

My dad gets in tomorrow!! very excited. i didnt get any homework done today, but i have most of the day tomorrow and i did start some christmas shopping! yay! i love the holiday season.

Also i cleaned my apartment, as much as i could with the materials i have...now i just need a high powered, perhaps magical mop for around the cat litter box. i honestly think my roommate doesn't understand that cleaning won't happen if somebody doesn't do it. god now i really truly understand how mothers feel. erg.

NaBloPoMo Day 23

I am exhausted and very excited about popping a movie in and falling asleep. But I have to say that filming this morning was fantastic! it felt so good to get over my fear of using this particular camera and using real movie lights and everything! And it went very smoothly, in fact we finished almost an hour before i thought we would! woo hoo! so that was incredibly encouraging and i'm excited to do my animation project this week...not so excited to finish a 10 page paper on tomorrow, but whatever.

NaBloPoMo Day 22

Filming tomorrow! i'm kinda getting nervous again, mainly cause i just want everything to go smoothly, and i only have 2 hours to film, which is like half a second in film world. But at least it will be done and all i need to do after tomorrow will be to get it processed an then worry about a whole different animal: editing! hooray...

This morning, on the bus to school, with a bunch of bleary eyed students, the radio suddenly began to play "You're the One That I Want" from Grease. I could swear that everyone was struggling to restrain from a) smiling b) singing along c) getting up and dancing. It was hilarious. I literally felt a instantaneous surge of recognition sweep through the bus, and you just knew that everyone was singing along in their head and wishing they could just get up and dance!

I'm actually feeling excited about filming this weekend. and i'm going shopping on sunday! woo!

Wow, i was almost going to forget to post!! I had a very encouraging meeting with my animation teacher today, which really boosted my confidence. I'm feeling very nervous about filming for my other film this weekend, but hopefully all will go smoothly...

I cleaned the bathroom today. lets see how long it stays clean *starts timer* oh and also see if my roommate even mentions it.

Another animation project i'm working on:

There is almost no explanation to how classical music can grab at your soul. I hear it and my heart just aches with the power, beauty, joy, and intense emotion and i have to close my eyes and let the instruments fill my entire being as each with its distinct sound as part of a whole swirls in the air, sometimes bursting sometimes tiptoe-ing. my mind fills with images, sometimes only abstract, as my brain attempts to communicate what i feel like. but sometimes the most amazing thing happens and i get flashes of images, pure, real identifiable images, something deep from my subconscious that the music conjured up.

Sublime in every sense of the word.

Just felt like sharing this.

NaBloPoMo Day 19

"We're all mad here."

My final project for my animation class is dealing with the darker symbolism in Alice and Wonderland, linking the story to "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac. There are connections, believe it or not, between the two, its a little freaky. anyway, heading up to school right now to do some preliminary shooting. i hate having to film when i have so much other stuff to do. Life right now has just been about rising the occasion and doing an ok job so as not to completely fail grade-wise.

So excited to be seeing my brother and dad next week!

I think I may have some type of sleeping disorder. I've been researching it and it certainly seems plausible. But then I don't really have the time to do anything about it at the moment. so much to do and SO LITTLE TIME!

I'm way behind on my filming schedules too. bleh

Ack, three minutes to post!! ok now two...nothing much happened today except the guy i have a crush on in my film class had a totally adorable reaction to my hair cut today. um, yeah, promise to do better on blogging tomorrow.

 NaBloPoMo Day 16

Today I went to a tea party hosted by a friend of mine. I thought "its a tea party so i'll dress up!" I wore this lacy, back and white skirt, tights and and heels. This was definitely out of my comfort zone because going through my mind was the fear that people will make fun of me, or just think its really weird, and that sort of thing. But i went and realized that i need to start giving people more credit. I mean, even if they did think that, who the hell cares? i liked what i was wearing, and it felt like me. normally i might care that people weren't seeing the "real" me, especially people i'm meeting for the first time. but i think i've finally started to get over that! 

Can't wait for people to see my hair cut tomorrow! heehee.

 I don't know when I'll be getting home tonight so I thought i'd better post now! Today, again I got up late and didn't get very much homework done. but I got my hair cut and I love it!!!! my blogs are getting really dry lately, i need to spice them up with something! but i can't right now cause i need to catch the bus and i'm going dancing! yay! 

Short Hair!! 

 Today I didn't go to my first class and I slept till noon and made it just on time to my second class. It felt horrible. I don't understand why it is still so hard for me to get it through my head to seize the day! I would say I'm trying, and to a certain extent I am, but i know i'm not trying my hardest. I need to actually enact Carpe Diem, not just think about it. Arg. 

I am so happy to be getting my hair cut tomorrow- - I really need a change. And I think I'm going dancing tomorrow night, which should be fun! 

NaBloPoMo Day 13

 Today I don't know that I actually pushed my comfort zone, but I am noticing that in the small space of a few days I've been exercising and settling in to a new confidence. Simply the idea of stretching my comfort zone has led to an ease with other people, particularly in the classroom, which I find interesting.

I'm getting my hair cut this weekend! Gonna go really short again, yay!
